Sugar soap poultice for (tropical) ulsers
The sugar soap poultice has been very successfully used for tropical ulsers, and festering sores which become infected and don’t heal. Mix soap and sugar into a thick paste and apply directly over the wound ideally for about 6 hours (max max of 24 hours), then wash out, allow to dry if possible, and repeat as nessesary. You can use washing up liquid, shaved soap bar (with a little clean water) or any type of simple soap. The sugar creates the sterile enviroment since concentrated sugars break down bacterial cell walls. This simple poultice has amazed medical professionals and will trpically clean a badly infected festering ulser in less than 2 days when antibiotics have failed before. The crater left behind should be cept clean and covered. Honey will help reduce scaring.
