FALL 2009

Fall has fallen with a thud. Summer ended on a dime, so to speak. And everywhere there is beauty. I have fallen as well. Fallen from the Vlierhof intentional community/organic farm (vlierhof.org) with a regime change. Now, I am staying with a brother and his wife near Agua Amarga, Spain, on the Mediterranean, near Almeria. Here, it is very beautiful and still quite warm.

I am looking for an authentic community to move to. Authentic in that everyone is welcome to be oneself and that there is a real loving connection between all the people. I may go to Brazil and start an ecocommunity with a young friend, Guido and volunteers are welcome to join us. Fifty hectares, 2 natural springs, in the mountains, 60 kms from the sea, near Bela Horizonte. I am waiting to get things straightened away here first before I can leave, like visa, etc.

I miss the intimacy and closeness I had with some of the people at the Vlierhof, and am trying to hang tough, as they say in Amerikka. Google has robbed the site of its importance, but its still a fun place to seek info and I hope others will supplement by sending in videos, photos, and text about projects that you are doing or have done.

One last thing, I have come to the realization that one intelligent thing people might consider doing is hooking up with about 1000 or more people in your area and going in on a one million euro wind turbine, if it seems feasible. Buckminster Fuller had the idea over 40 years ago, decentralized energy for the world, and now it is finally happening with organizations like transitiontowns and elsewise. Its a big organizing project, but a great way to connect with the people in your area.
